Right when I needed some kind of integration of my FriendFeed stream into my Drupal website, and started to look around for modules, those guys at FF posted this entry on their blog:

We just launched a new set of customizable FriendFeed widgets for spicing up your blog or web site. There are several ways to embed FriendFeed, and you can pick as many of them as you want.
They read minds, at FF ...
I played a bit with each one of those widgets and Drupal blocks.
Using the core Garland theme, with one sidebar only, I found that a width of 160 to 180 px makes the widget look quite good.
All the rest is a matter of tastes: you can have your widget with a large/medium/small pic, you can choose whether you want to show something (logo / pictures / services / stats / subscribe link), or not. You can choose the widget width.
So, what you need is to create a new block.
Name it "ff widget" ("Block description") and, eventually, type in "Block title" the name you want to show up at the block beginning.
Copy and paste the code inside the "Block body". Switch to source code, if you're using a WYSIWYG editor. Remember to set the "Input format" to Full HTML.
Save it, and put your new block in the correct place (left sidebar, for example.)
Done. Enjoy.
You're right, it's quite different from having the FriendFeed module for Drupal installed.
This module allows you to "Make announcements on FriendFeed when new content is created", among all. But you need to get a remote key from FriendFeed API.
It's up to you to acknowledge what really are your needs for your Drupal website.
As for me, I'm happy with these new widgets. Now, if I only could easily change the colour ...
